Since the first day of my internship I already knew what my job at Mundial Centros De Servicio Automotriz, the only task they gave me at first was just to capture all of the orders in the old software we used here at MUNDIAL, this consisted of taking a sheet of paper that was a form that I needed to fill with certain things like the name of the client, their phone number, email and from the other part the status of their car with pictures included to show the odometer of the car that is the thing that tells you how many miles of kilometers does your car has, after that using the Ipad I was given I had to fill the same form but now in a electronic way, this was in order to have a digital copy that was sent to our client with visual proof that we were working on their car and pictures of their car from the day it was received by us so there will not be any confusions by the time our client picks up their car. That was the first way I contributed in here but then they gave me more tasks like supplying the mechanics with their autoparts , this consisted about going back to the order and seeing what part number were needed, by part number I mean that each autopart has a different identification number so as an example y had to bring the A768,A293 and 4144C to the mechanic I checked back onto the list made, take the parts needed from the stock to posterior give them to the mechanic so he can repair the car or give the service needed like changing the oil that is a simple thing that everyone would understand. As the time passed I started to look for more things I could do in the free time like cleaning or asing people of they needed help with something because I didn't wanted myself to be not busy. I feel that I have contributed a lot and I am very proud of what I have done.

In my 3rd week as an intern in Mundial Centros De Servicio Automotriz I have learned many thing but also experienced a lot more things that made me reflect on my life and the way I was doing the things in general, from the way I scheduled my day to the way I look at the thing but most importantly at my goals. Something really important happened during this week, I had a conversation with the owner of my site, not my mentor but the boss, this day I was working on the computer and then the owner calls me to the office and tells me his story of how he started from 0 but as he pursued his goals he reached them by working hard everyday of his life to reach what he wanted, he told me that when he was a kid he dreamed to provide his family everything they needed and what he never had, since then this little kid started looking for ways to sucess. This really stood me out because I am a person that wants to be successful one day but when he told me all this I realized I was not trying hard enough if I actually want all this good things to happen I have to put the effort needed. Apart from that experience that really stood me out, fun things also happened like the fact that I made really good friends right here like Luis, I can talk with him about everything that comes to my mind because he might probably have an answer to it, I would really enjoy spending more time in here because I feel this is actually beneficial for me and for the person I would like to be in the future following the steps I have seen in here In my second week of my internship at Centros De Servicio Automotriz Mundial I have seen many characteristic of my mentor but also of my peers that I would like ot have and develop in myself because I know that they will help me become who I want to be in a future. Some of the characteristics I would like to learn I observed them from my mentor, my friend Victor and Luis that are my peers at work and spend hours in the office with me. Agustin, my mentor is a very responsible person that from what I haves seen is always organized in many aspects, he manages his time perfectly and always has scheduled the next day to be prepared for it, I would like to be this organized because I belive It would help me in many things because I am not the most organized person and that reflects in many things of my life for example the mess I have in my bedroom (sometimes) or the way I do manage my time and I feel that if I changed that aspect of me my whole life would change in a positive way. From Victor I would like to learn his leader aspect, he is not the boss or the leader but he's always pushing the other people at work to do their work and my peers recognize that, I can see this because he is the employee here that has the most experience here because of the 23 years he has been working here everyone trust his knowledge and when someone has a question they go towards him to ask him. Luis is such a passionate guy that always makes my work environment fun and he is one of the reasons I really enjoy this because I can work in my things but also have really good conversations, something I have seen on him is that he always has a good relationship with the clients and that is because he seems like a trustworthy person who you can trust. WIth this skills I feel I would be prepared for my goals for the future because I am looking to own a place similar to my internship one day.
This Friday 11th I concluded my first week of internship and it couldn't been any better, The first day I was introduced to the staff that now are my peers at work and to what I was gonna do, at first they only gave me certain tasks my mentor knew I will be in charged for but as the days passes I started having more responsibilities like managing the sales prices and making sure that every customer received their Email confirmation with the current status of their car and the pictures taken of the car they day it was received by us in order to make sure their cars are intact to prove no damage was provoked by us, as an example we take those pictures because there are sometimes that the customer tells us that a scratch of their car was not there when they brought it here but then we can prove them wrong by showing them the pictures that were taken on the same moment they arrived. This method has worked for us a lot because it happened multiple times over the past years and my mentor chose to give me the responsibility of uploading this pictures and sending them to the clients just for a confirmation of everything. I am also in charged to “open the orders” in easier and more detailed words is when a car comes in to get fixed there is some paperwork that has to be done where we need to fill certain information like the order number, client name, model of the car, brand of car, VIN number (car identification number), year of the car, mileage or kilometers if needed, car plates and other minimal requirements that after are put into the database where we can later update the status of the order with every detail from the price to the parts that will be replaced or the service given. Those are 2 of my main responsibilities hera at my internship but sometimes I do smaller things just to help my peers and take some weight off their shoulders and that is to go and give the mechanics the parts they need to fix the cars or add labels to the new stock that comes in. I am really happy for interning here because it is what I like and I feel like I learn a lot about the topic I am interested in and want to work on it in the future. I believe in myself and I know that I will be doing great at my internship at Mundial Centros De Servicio Automotriz because of the skills I already have and developed over the time I have worked at school and at my job that has a similarity where I am interning at. Some of the skills I have and I know that will be useful during my internship is how fast I get the understanding on the task I will be given for example I know that I will be working using a software, I know I am good at learning & catching up with things because in my current job I work with a software where I am in charged of managing stock and at first when they barely introduced me into the software it was confusing but within a week I was one of the most experienced persons at work with it. Another skill that I have is that I can build strong relationships with my peers at work really fast and this I can say because I’ve always considered myself a very social person and that always makes a relationship with the persons around him really fast and from then make the work environment one that is familiar and also one that I will be comfortable into. All this still does not mean that I am the best worker or that I am perfect for the job, when I think about the skills that I would like to develop during the internship I think about leadership and being committed, starting off with leadership I feel that I will be working with a really efficient team where I will be able to see what makes a good leader the way they react against situations because one day I will be a good leader but first I need to learn the aspects from one. The second skill that will like to develop that I believe that is really important because it will help me through my life in different situations and places is being committed because often I am a person that does its work and does it good but after I finish the work I am given, I don't look at other things that I could do in order to help another peer or help the company I rather sit and take a break while another task is given to me, I want to change this habit because if I become a committed person I will feel prepared to be a leader and it will open many opportunities in my life.
Thinking about who am I now is hard, but even when I might not have the most detailed answer for “who am I?” something that I can think about is that I want to be successful in my future and also now but lets plot the situation like this. In 3-4 years I want to attend to college and work in my family company and learn as much as I can in many aspects so one day I could strongly support my family with their business with the acknowledge I got from the practice I’ve been having since I was a teenager. In 10+ years I want to have a family that I could take care of and that will never be in need and that is my big dream and is what I want to do for the rest of my life also is to keep my life like that as far as I can. But when I think about all that I know that there are also areas that I need to work on and I actually have a lot to work, I don't really freak out a lot right now because I know most of those skills I need to learn and improve will develop while I grow up and a the time passes but if I had to say which ones are the ones I actually worry the most about is my responsibility because when I think about it I don't know if I could handle all that but I know that my passion will give my the extra effort I need to one day reach this goal. Hello I'm Gustavo G. right now I am at junior a High Tech High Chula Vista , I expect to improve academically this semester but also as a person and for that I will need to reach the goals I have set to myself
Follow my journey. This week the campus crawl took its place around San Francisco, we visited different four colleges in total, on tuesday at night around 11 I will say we all left school in 3 different buses where all the advisories where in, In the bus I was sitting next to my friends and all we did basically was playing in my Ipad, talk and look at some movies and then sleep or at least tried to sleep. At 7 o’clock we arrived to UC berkeley and from then started our campus crawl but know I'm going to talk about what stood me out. Something that I heard and that I really liked was that everything in Cal Poly was really well planned and design for example the architecture building looked very weird because all the cables and tubes were outside but that was in purpose to represent the concept of architecture and the fact that they always say “learn from doing”.
After this trip my thoughts about a 4 year university are still the same I’ve always had on my mind attending to a university and if needed more than 4 years but something I realised about many colleges is that they seem pretty lonely and that is something I didn't liked. My top University after this I will say Cal Poly, this because I liked the vibe out there and they have a very good rank talking about business careers and it was full of people, my 2nd choice will be Berkley basically for the same thing, the other 2 I did not felt them at all, San jose was really pretty and I liked everything about it, they really care for their students but it seemed very lonely apart from the fact that it was different from the perspective I am looking for. At the and UC Santa Cruz, there is nothing bad about this school but it seemed very different for me and apart from the way I looked at it I feel that I will be pretty uncomfortable being there in a future. This week I am going to talk about the topic that I liked the most that we've seen in this week and it is my social topic, I did my own presentation about two weeks ago about hypermasculinity I did my research where I got to know hypermasculinity has turned into a stereotype that has entered most of the people's mind from everywhere as an example we have seen hypermasculinity from TV shows to magazines to our daily basis represented in beauty products and peoples comments apart from our own mindset.Something we looked at and that I really enjoyed too was the behavior of adolescent and and adult based on brain function, we got a brief introduction with the visual note taking of the sentis brain animation series and the power of believing on what you can improve, after reviewing this VNT’s I had a reinforced idea of why the human age differentiates so much between adolescents and adults was the wiring because in younger age is still connecting brain wires but at the same time and as important too is the excitement ant inhibition levels that our brain has at both ages, when you are in your early childhood your excitement level rises up but then as you grow up both get along and go together for the rest of your adulthood.
This week I will like to talk about something I have found very interesting since the moment we were introduced to it and this subject is “Adolescent and adult behaviors based on brain function” I really liked this topic because it's about something I’ve been wondering since I can remember about it, I am not going to say I love it but I do wondered about lots of things even before getting introduced to the topic because when I was a 7th grader at middle school I heard something about this because it was part of our class, that day we got a brief intro but nothing in special but I can remember the teacher saying that our brains were more capable to learn subjects easier because we were younger and it worked that way and that is everything I remember from then so I liked when we came back to that subject to reinforce it this week, I was shown some videos where it talked about teen brains where we did a visual note taking which helped a lot because previous that we got the executive brain article that helped me to understand some of the confusing words that were in the visual note taking videos before looking at them. After I knew why teen brains learned thing faster and it as because their wires are still connecting and making constant changes allowing thing to bond easier with new concepts that are being sown to the brain, this doesn't mean adult brains cannot learn things but they just do it in a slower pace. |
